So yummy and you feel like you are going back in time with the fountain and the cozy booths. The food is so good! The service never lets me down. Love this place!
Revisited after 10 years and it’s every bit as good! Love the decor, the staff and the food. Chips and salsa always fresh. Good rellano and rice also!
It was so good on Thursday at lunch we had to bring the family on Saturday. So far everything we have tried has been delicious. The staff is wonderful as well.
This Mexican restaurant is one of the best in town and the longest standing. It is so nice to have a family run restaurant with the customer in mind. We have been coming to the bean bandit, my whole life and truly love Margie and her spirit is still here. The food is still amazing and the chips and salsa are, always tasty! The service is good. Our waitress was the only one on the floor at the time we were there, and seemed to be handling things nicely.
Everything was good. We'll be back!!We came back and it was so yummy again!! Definitely recommend. We had the chicken and chorizo chimichangas and they were so delicious. The rice and beans with green chili and cheese was so amazing! And the margarita was the best especially for Cinco de Mayo. It really made the holiday special for us. I'll be dreaming of coming back.. LOL Consistently good, with a beautiful atmosphere and excellent service.
Best and one of the oldest Mexican food restaurants in Colorado Springs. The service is always great. My family has been coming here since the 1970's. It's remained a family favorite for 3 generations.
I have been coming to this restaurant for over 20 years. The food, service, atmosphere and price here are absolutely fantastic. This is an amazing, authentic, family Mexican restaurant that if you haven't tried yet, should definitely be on your list of places to visit soon.
I went in before the dinner hour while my son was warming up for his baseball game. Service was very friendly. Chips & salsa were homemade & offered mild & spicy. Reading the little story of the family business is a must. I’m from Houston, Texas & always loved how family oriented my Mexican friends were. It felt like that. I chose a combo meal (#1) to try more things. While I waited a had a need for the loo & honestly, I make a point to, at all restaurants. My mom always said if they don’t care that you see a messy bathroom, imagine the kitchen that you don’t see. And it was very clean, had soap so I didn’t have to worry the employees didn’t have soap after they use the restroom, & it smelled good. I tried a bite of each thing while I was hungry because you should never try new foods unless you’re hungry. My chili relleno was soft as they should be, that’s the traditional way. My chalupa chip was home made, not that store bought garbage I usually find in “Mexican” restaurants in Colorado. The beans & rice were excellent & very much like my old neighbor from Mexico City. My waitress had worked there for 20 plus years, since she was a teen so they must treat their employees well. Any place with high turnover should tell you something. The owner even did a stop by to teasingly scold me for being on my phone & not present in the moment. He said his momma would have taken it away lol. So I highly recommend you support this sweet little local gem. Oh, & they sell coke products which is a huge plus to me lol. And not that ridiculous & gross “freestyle” machine they use at to many places now. I won’t even eat at a place that can’t mix a good fountain coke.
